Juneteenth (short for June 19th) is a federal holiday which marked an effective end of slavery in the United States.
On May 17, 2022, the Clifton Forge Main Street Board of Directors voted to help plan the Town’s first official celebration of Juneteenth. The holiday was enacted under Former Mayor Pamela Marshall. Our goal is to educate, inspire and prosper! We plan to celebrate African American culture through music, food, stories, and fun on June 19th from 12-6pm at Washington Park!
